Two copies of a Site Plan

The site plan should be drawn to a suitable scale; 1:100 is preferred although 1:200 may suffice for sites over 1500m2. At least three dimensions from building to boundaries shall be shown on the plan to enable the building to be accurately set out and sited. The plan shall show calculations establishing the site coverage, and impermeable and permeable areas. The site plan should also include:

  • the legal description of the site
  • north point
  • road name 
  • spot levels along boundaries and contours at 0.5 m intervals
  • datum – generally Lands & Survey Auckland Datum 1946 will be required 
  • finished floor levels 
  • drainage layout (including public and private, both new and existing)
  • earthworks (including cuts, fills, batters and the volume of earthworks)
  • retaining walls including maximum heights and distance from boundaries
  • vehicle manoeuvring and parking provisions
